To open the cage to this Gigant you must do the two Sub-Quests “Culling the Snowplain Herds” & “Survey Says…”, both started by talking to Bregon in Cysloden > Bregon’s Hideout. You can check your completed chests by pressing while not in combat. The ones that are tied to quests are always mandatory to finish the quest, so you can’t mess up anything. If the red icon is gone from the map it means you defeated that one already. The ones in free roam have red icons on the map. To keep track of how many you defeated, go to Menu > Field Guide > Play Records > Elite Monster Types Defeated.
